Hi! I’m Carrie Dougherty.
When it comes to my approach to real estate, I believe in connections over commissions, and because of this, I have earned a strong reputation for helping clients in Knoxville and the surrounding counties succeed in achieving their real estate goals. I know that every transaction is unique, and so are my client’s circumstances. I listen to my clients and take every factor into consideration when determining the best plan of action. Whether I’m narrowing down the best listings to show a buyer or strategically positioning a home on the market, I take a personalized approach to guarantee my clients are happy and confident in any decision they make. I am fortunate to have worked with many clients multiple times. I call these clients my lifetime clients, and I am so grateful to have built such strong, trusting relationships. I would love the opportunity to make you a lifetime client too!
An Educational Approach to Real Estate
I entered the real estate industry in 2006 after a successful career in higher education. I served as the Director of Development for Student Affairs at Illinois State University where I earned my Masters of Science in Higher Education Administration. I traveled the country meeting with alumni and raising funds for the school’s first capital campaign. I also planned events to recognize donors. I truly enjoyed this job, but when I decided to start a family, I knew that having a job with frequent travel would not work well for the life I wanted to build. I decided to stay home with my kids until they were able to start school. I almost achieved that goal, but I decided to jump back into the professional world a little early. My background made the transition to real estate rather easy because many of my skills overlapped with those needed to be a great REALTOR®. My clients often see a glimpse of my educational background when they work with me. I stay current on market changes and best practices, so I am always equipped with the best information to answer any questions. I want my clients to see me as a resource, and I want them to know they can trust me to give them honest advice based on both data and everything I’ve learned from my years of experience in the industry.
My Love For East Tennessee Living
East Tennessee is the perfect place to call home. My favorite aspect of living in East Tennessee is being surrounded by the peacefulness of beautiful lakes, rivers and mountains while having the ability to easily drive to Downtown Knoxville for a lively festival or sporting event. You can change your environment with just a short drive in the car, or for me, on my Harley. I moved to East Tennessee in 2001, and as an avid explorer, I’ve spent a lot of time getting to know all of the hidden gems. After living here for more than 20 years, I have a strong connection to the community and can help my clients determine which areas are best suited for their lifestyle.
Outside the Office
Outside of work, my family and I spend a lot of time together exploring East Tennessee. When the weather allows, we like to take our boat out on the water and come home to a relaxing evening of grilling. I often experiment with different grilling techniques, and I’ve become known for my homemade charcuterie boards. When we have time for a longer getaway, we enjoy escaping into nature for a few days away from the hustle and bustle. We have a 1974 Bronco that my family and I turned into a rock climber. We take it to the mountains to ride trails and find new natural obstacles to conquer. I am also part of the East Tennessee 4-Wheel Drive Club, so we often get together with others to ride trails together and swap stories of our latest adventures. There is so much to do and see in East Tennessee!
